John Irving, the novelist, came after us at IES Wien

John Irving, the author of Hotel New Hampshire and other wonderful novels, was a student at IES in Vienna 1963-64, just two years after we were there. Recently he wrote a lengthy book review in The New York Times that contains numerous references to his IES year, a reminder of our year there.
