President Kennedy arrived at Vienna's Schwechat airport at 10:45 a.m., Saturday, June 3, 1961, a rainy, chilly day, and we IES Wien students were there to greet him

President John F. Kennedy and USSR Premier Nikita Khruschev held their summit meeting in Vienna early June 1961 and we IES Wien 1960-61 students were there!

We were the only group of American students greeting President Kennedy at the airport.

The next day, Sunday, June 4, 1961, President Kennedy and his wife, Jacqueline, went to church at St. Stephen's Cathedral.
